Cathy Alwell is the President and CEO of Preferred Resources. Cathy enjoys fostering a privately held, family oriented company, while promoting the mission of providing quality Executive Search, Staff Augmentation and Contingency staffing services to the St. Louis area and beyond.
In 2020, she was proud to obtain certification as a Woman Owned Business Enterprise by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC). Cathy earned a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education (emphasis in Special Education) from University of MO, St. Louis, and a master’s degree in Education from Southwest Baptist University.
If you catch her on the weekends, she will probably be visiting with friends and family, watching one of her sons’ baseball games or traveling!
Adam Crider is a Senior IT Recruiter and Account Coordinator at Preferred Resources. In this role he is responsible for finding the best talent to fill current openings and keeping up to date on what is going on with his clients.
Adam joined Preferred Resources back in 2011 as a Sourcer and is currently a Senior IT Recruiter and Account Coordinator. He brings over 10 years of recruiting experience specializing in IT and Professional Staffing as well as Account and Vendor Management. Adam holds a bachelor’s degree in Business from Missouri State University.
If you catch him, on a sunny day, he will probably be on his way to the golf course or heading out of town to visit friends!
Matt Ruder is a Senior Technical Recruiter and Account Manager at Preferred Resources. In this dual role, he handles the recruiting process for both clients and candidates. Before joining Preferred Resources in 2018, Matt developed a network of candidates and clients in his role as a Recruiter for 8 years. He listens to determine how to achieve the best results, whether finding a job for a candidate or finding a candidate for a job requisition.
Matt holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Management from SIUE. If you catch him on the weekends, he is probably busy grilling up something delicious, or showing off his D1 golf skills!
Haley Missavage is the Senior Business Development Manager. In this role, she manages business relationships with numerous Preferred Resources clients, new business development, and marketing.
Haley joined Preferred Resources in 2010 and uses her unique ability to develop strong relationships with business professionals to foster current client relationships and build relationships with new clients. She has over 20 years of experience in IT consulting sales, with experience in all aspects of staff augmentation, consulting services and direct hire placement. Haley attended the University of Arkansas and studied Business.
Outside of work, Haley enjoys books, traveling and visiting with friends and family. She is also an amateur photographer and enjoys capturing beautiful images around St. Louis, and wherever she goes.
Pattie is a Senior Talent Acquisition Analyst for Preferred Resources. In this role, she is responsible for recruiting qualified candidates that fit our clients’ needs, improving processes, and helping to train new recruiters.
She joined Preferred Resources in 2020 bringing with her 8 years of full cycle recruiting experience and a passion for helping great people find great careers. During this time, she made many connections in the IT and Professional world and can quickly understand the needs of her clients and candidates. She holds a master’s degree in communications from Webster University and a bachelor’s degree from SIU Carbondale.
Pattie is a mother of 3 boys so you can catch her on the weekends enjoying outdoor activities with her family, hanging out with friends, or listening to true crime podcasts.
Kaitlin Paynter is a Recruiting Support Administrator at Preferred Resources. In this role, she is responsible for sourcing for new candidates, handling company marketing and social media channels, recruiting support and executing the new website launch!
Before joining Preferred Resources in 2021, Kaitlin was working as a Digital Merchandising Specialist at another company in the St. Louis area. She just recently graduated from Mizzou with a bachelor’s in Interdisciplinary Studies with an emphasis in Communication, Fashion Merchandising, and Marketing.

Barbara McCann is the Manager of Operations at Preferred Resources. In this role, she is responsible for all aspects of operations regarding clients and consultants from benefits administration to contracts.
Barbara earned an Associate of Science degree in Computer Science from Southeast Missouri State, and started her career in Computer Operations and Programming.
On the weekends, she enjoys reading, doing puzzles, visiting with family and friends, listening to live music, and traveling out of state to visit kids and grandkids!
Aimee White is the Bookkeeper at Preferred Resources. In this role, she is responsible for Preferred Resources accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and general administrative tasks.
Before joining Preferred Resources in 2010, Aimee was teaching scuba classes and learning skills that she uses in her job today. She has an associate’s degree in Accounting from SLCC Meramec and a bachelor’s degree in Anthropology from UMSL.

Bob Trende is our Vice President of Business Solutions. He brings over 25 years’ experience to the Preferred Resources team in crafting cutting-edge technology solutions for large organizations.
He works closely with our Recruiting and Account Management teams to identify top talent for our clients. Bob is passionate about helping our resources fulfill their career goals and skillset by staying current with business trends and emerging technology.
When not working, he enjoys time with friends and family at the Lake of the Ozarks!
Ali is a Talent Acquisition Analyst at Preferred Resources. In this role, she is responsible for finding new candidates that match our client’s needs.
Before Joining Preferred Resources in 2021, Ali worked as an Assistant Operations Manager for another company in the St. Louis. She has prior experience recruiting for a large company local to St. Louis. During this time, Ali made many connections in both the business and IT worlds. From this experience she gained the ability to understand client requirements and match candidates to job requisitions. Ali graduated from Missouri State University with a degree in fashion merchandising and management with a minor in marketing.
